DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 25, FALL 2017 DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 25, FALL 2017, WEEK 4 Dear DWTS Fans:  Thank you for enjoying our blog and for bearing with us until we could enter all of the latest signups into the database. Some weeks, we receive so many signups that we have a heck of a time getting caught up.  Again, thank you!   Welcome to Week 4 of Season 25, Dancing with the Stars!  Tom and Erin hosted. Carrie Ann Inaba (CAI), Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli judged.  It’s “Most-Memorable Year” Night, which usually brings truly vulnerable and heartfelt personal stories and performances from the celebrities.  This week will be vastly opposed to last week’s Guilty Pleasures Night, when a few celebs’ stories/performances, such as Frankie’s and Lindsey’s, were entertaining and appeared to be genuine, while a few others, such as Nick’s and Nikki’s and, worst of all, Sasha’s, really did not work. Here’s hoping for high quality across the board tonight!   THE FULL CAST! “Property Brothers’” real-estate expert Drew Scott & pro Emma Slater Retired NFL Receiver Terrell Owens & pro Cheryl Burke (2-Time MBT winner) Vanessa (Minillo) Lachey (Nick’s wife) & pro Maks Chmerkovskiy WWE Wrestler Nikki Bella & pro Artem Chigvintsev Actor/Singer/Dancer Jordan Fisher (Disney, “Hamilton”) & pro Lindsay Arnold Former NBA champ/former Knick’s Coach Derek Fisher & pro Sharna Burgess Former Paralympic Swimmer Victoria Arlen & pro Val Chmerkovskiy Actor Frankie Muniz (formerly “Malcolm in the Middle”) & pro Witney Carson Electronic Violinist Lindsey Stirling & pro Mark Ballas (2-Time MBT winner) Actress Sasha Pieterse (“Pretty Little Liars”) & pro Gleb Savchenko Singer/Actor/“98 Degrees” boy-band member Nick Lachey & pro Peta Murgatroyd   The Possible Ballroom & Latin Dances: Foxtrot, Quickstep, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Argentine Tango, Jive, Jazz, Charleston, Contemporary; Cha-Cha, Samba, Salsa, Rumba, Paso Doble. “Learn the dance, learn the steps, then learn the character of it.” — Len Goodman   MON., OCT. 9          Frankie Muniz & Whitney #1.                   1-800-868-3405 Quickstep (“Adventure of a Lifetime,” Coldplay)                     Judges’ scores 8-8-8.  Mine 8.5. “Most-Memorable Year”: The positive:  Frankie’s MMY is 2017; all of his experiences as an actor, a race-car driver, etc. and his health issues have come together here at DWTS. The dance was light, joyous, fun, peppy, and graceful. Again, he works very hard and is awfully cute. The negative/work on:  Keep loosening the hips. He’s due for:  Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Argentine Tango, Jive, Jazz, Charleston, Contemporary; Cha-Cha, Salsa, Rumba, Paso Doble.   MON., OCT. 9 ...

The positive:  Serious, into it, on target, aggressive enough; well-done turns and hold, graceful arms/hands; pretty, graceful dance. He’s adorable and will keep improving. He’s due for:  Quickstep, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Argentine Tango, Jive, Jazz, Charleston, Contemporary; Cha-Cha, Samba, Salsa, Rhumba, Paso Doble.   TUES., SEP. 26       Frankie Muniz & Whitney #12.   Untraditional Cha-Cha (“Perm,” Bruno Mars)                  Judges’ scores 8-8-9.  Mine 6.5. The positive:  Not bad, considering what he was given. BUT, not nearly enough proper Cha-Cha content, after Witney wasted 25% of time in the opener. She then inserted other dance styles as a further waste of time. The judges WAY over-scored Witney’s ridiculous choreo. He’s much better than this. Get it together, Witney! Carrie Ann Inaba (CAI), Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli (left to right, as usual) judged.   THE FULL CAST! “Property Brothers’” real-estate expert Drew Scott & pro Emma Slater Singer/Actor/former “98 Degrees” boy-band member Nick Lachey & pro Peta Murgatroyd Vanessa (Minillo) Lachey (Nick’s wife) & pro Maks Chmerkovskiy WWE Wrestler Nikki Bella & pro Artem Chigvintsev Actor/Singer/Dancer Jordan Fisher (Disney, “Hamilton”) & pro Lindsay Arnold Former NBA champ/former Knick’s Coach Derek Fisher & pro Sharna Burgess Former Paralympic Swimmer Victoria Arlen & pro Val Chmerkovskiy Actor Frankie Muniz (formerly ‘Malcom’: “Malcolm in the Middle”) & pro Witney Carson Electronic Violinist Lindsey Stirling & pro Mark Ballas (2-Time MBT winner) Singer/Dancer Debbie Gibson & pro Alan Bersten “Shark Tank” Investor Barbara Corcoran & pro Keo Motsepe Actress Sasha Pieterse (“Pretty Little Liars”) & pro Gleb Savchenko Retired NFL Receiver Terrell Owens & pro Cheryl Burke (2-Time MBT winner) The Possible Ballroom & Latin Dances: Foxtrot, Quickstep, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Jive, Jazz, Charleston, Contemporary; Cha-Cha, Samba, Salsa, Tango, Argentine Tango, Rhumba, Paso Doble.   Dancing With The Stars: Week 1 Analysis (Sep. 18, 2017) Season 25’s Fall Premiere opened in the desert with Alan and Sharna walking and then judge Len Goodman coming along to pick them up in a glitzy silver golf cart. Into the city they went, where “Dancing in the Street” played its irresistible beat and celebs came out to be with their pros, all dancing in the street, with all female pros completely in small silver pieces and all male pros in a silver/black combo.  Their dancing turned into a huge crowd for blocks! Then the teams ran inside to the ballroom. IT WAS ALL SO COOL! The Stars and the pros tonight gave us an interesting, well-done show.  The producers did a surprisingly good job of casting this time, WITHOUT Olympic gymnasts (thank you!). No one was flat-out terrible, we had a few fabulous surprises that we don’t expect in Week 1, several scores were unfairly low while a few were too high, and certain performances matched my expectations. As often happens, the judges cheated the first contestant on scoring and continued in that vein most of the night, with Len and Bruno shortchanging celebs more than Carrie Ann did and Len finally being fair to a couple of them while Bruno still held...
