Dancing With The Stars Season 24, Week 6

Dancing With The Stars Season 24, Week 6 It’s Week 6, Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars! Tom and Erin hosted. Carrie Ann Inaba (CAI), Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys) (Season 21 with Sharna), Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli judged. The Cast: Maksim Chmerkovskiy  +  Heather Morris, Singer/Dancer Val Chmerkovskiy  +     Normani Kordei, Singer Sasha Farber  +  Simone Biles, U.S. Olympic Gymnast (most-decorated) Artem Chigvintsev  +  Nancy Kerrigan, Former U.S. Olympic Ice Skater Peta Murgatroyd  +  Nick Viall, Former “Bachelor” Sharna Burgess  +  Bonner Bolton, Pro Bull Rider/Model Emma Slater  +  Rashad Jennings, NFL Running Back Lindsay Arnold  +  David Ross, CHI Cubs Baseball Catcher (won 2016 World Series; retired) Dancing With The Stars: Week 6 Analysis (April 24, 2017) This is Boy Bands versus Girl Groups (teams) in Week 6 on Dancing with the Stars! The show opened by showing the male celebs and the female celebs separately in their respective groups. Maks is back! The performances ranged from good to WOW; no one was scored below a 7, which further proves progress. Most of the pros choreographed appropriate/traditional and sufficient dance content. The judges’ scores were mostly fair, but they cheated a few contestants and denied one post-dance interview time with Erin. CAI did not subtract points for lifts. Simone Biles: Tradl./Mod. Samba.  Judges: 9-8-9-9.   Me: 8.5. The positive:  “I’m A Survivor.” Sasha’s choreo was pretty good. Although a couple of judges said that it had plenty of Samba content, I strongly disagree; it was too modified with other content. However, it met the requirement for constant movement and was fun and even a tad sexy. The negative/work on:  Try to minimize gymnastics, and, when you do them, try not to look as though you’re doing a gymnastic floor routine with the customary fast, powerful movements and hard landings; make it more graceful and soft as though flowing within the dance. Just feel/react to the music/movement. She’s due for:  a Paso Doble, a Salsa, a Rhumba, an Arg. Tango (maybe), a Jive, a Jazz, a Foxtrot, a standard Waltz, or a Charleston.   Bonner Bolton: Tradl. Rhumba.    Judges: 8-8-7-7.   Me: 8. The positive:  Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way.” Again, his frame/hold, leg position, confidence, and technique improved. I love his work ethic, sweet personality, cute face, and gentlemanly ways. He has improved a lot across the board, even though he already earned at least a few 8’s also in Weeks 2, 4 and 5. Emotionally this week, he was more confident and...

Dancing With The Stars, Week 5 Analysis & Results

Dancing With The Stars Season 24, Week 5 →   It’s Week 5, Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars! Tom and Erin hosted. Carrie Ann Inaba (CAI), Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli judged.   The Cast: Maksim Chmerkovskiy  +  Heather Morris, Singer/Dancer Peta Murgatroyd  +  Nick Viall, Former “Bachelor” Artem Chigvintsev  +  Nancy Kerrigan, Former U.S. Olympic Ice Skater Val Chmerkovskiy  +     Normani Kordei, Singer Sasha Farber  +  Simone Biles, U.S. Olympic Gymnast (most-decorated) Emma Slater  +  Rashad Jennings, NFL Running Back Lindsay Arnold  +  David Ross, CHI Cubs Baseball Catcher (won 2016 World Series; retired) Sharna Burgess  +  Bonner Bolton, Pro Bull Rider/Model Gleb Savchenko  +  Erika Jayne, Singer/Real Housewives of Bev. Hills Dancing With The Stars: Week 5 Analysis (April 17, 2017) This is Disney Week on Dancing with the Stars! Actor and Season 19 DWTS winner Alfonso Ribeiro (with Witney Carson) opened the show by singing and taking two young children, a girl and a boy, into ‘Disney.’ There, the cast, Mickey and friends waited. Overall, the performances ranged from good to excellent. Most of the pros choreographed appropriate/traditional and sufficient dance content. The judges’ scores were about half fair and half low. CAI did not subtract points for lifts, maybe because dances to Disney songs have often contained lifts. Rashad Jennings: Traditional Foxtrot.             Judges’ scores 7-8-9-8.  My score 8.5. The positive:  “Beauty and the Beast.” Rashad is one of my fave male celebs ever on Dancing with the Stars, not far behind Nyle DiMarco. He’s still easily the best amateur male dancer this season. His rhythm and timing, legs/footwork (could have used even more rise and fall), and his transitional flow were at 90-95%, and everything else at 100%. The dance—from easy cooperation and hard work—was graceful, elegant, and fully connected. Lovely, sweet, endearing, very impressive, and highly entertaining. He and Emma are adorable together and make me feel happy. I loved it! What a way to start Disney Week! CAI unnecessarily cheated him on his score, though. My DANCE OF THE NIGHT! Can’t wait to see them next week! The negative/work on:  Rise/fall in the footwork and maintaining smooth transitional flow. He’s due for:  a Paso Doble, a Rhumba, a Tango, a Samba, a Salsa, a Jazz, a Jive, a Quickstep, a standard Waltz, or a Charleston.   Nick Viall: Traditional Jazz.                              Judges’ scores 9-8-9-8.  My score 8.5. The positive:  “Pinocchio.” Another really good dance from Nick—cute, creative, playful. He kept up with Peta and had fun. I enjoyed...

Dancing With The Stars, Week 4 Analysis and Results

Dancing With The Stars Season 24, Week 4 Analysis and Results →   It’s Week 4, Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars!  Tom and Erin hosted; they’re always fun. Carrie Ann Inaba (CAI), Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli judged.   The Cast: Maksim Chmerkovskiy  +  Heather Morris, Singer/Dancer Peta Murgatroyd  +  Nick Viall, Former “Bachelor” Artem Chigvintsev  +  Nancy Kerrigan, Former U.S. Olympic Ice Skater Val Chmerkovskiy  +  Normani Kordei, Singer Sasha Farber  +  Simone Biles, U.S. Olympic Gymnast (most-decorated) Emma Slater  +  Rashad Jennings, NFL Running Back Kym Johnson Herjavec  +  Mr. T., Actor Lindsay Arnold  +  David Ross, CHI Cubs Baseball Catcher Sharna Burgess  +  Bonner Bolton, Pro Bull Rider/Model Gleb Savchenko  +  Erika Jayne, Singer/Real Housewives of Bev. Hills Dancing With The Stars: Week 4 Analysis (April 10, 2017) This week’s Dancing with the Stars theme is “Most-Memorable Year” in the life of each celeb.  Overall, the performances ranged from good to outstanding, most of the pros choreographed appropriate/traditional and sufficient dance content, and the judges’ scores were mostly fair. Normani Kordei: Tradl. Rhumba.                     Judges’ scores 8-7-8-9.  My score 9. The positive:  Val’s choreo was good, except that a few times they interrupted the flow a bit. The dance was magnetic, graceful, pretty, dramatic and emotional in relaying Normani’s joy and gratitude in joining Fifth Harmony in 2012. Again, she was all in, with excellent posture while experiencing the dance. As Len said, “A joy to watch.” CAI subtracted a point for a lift.   Nick Viall: Traditional Rhumba.            Judges’ scores 8-7-8-7.  My score 8. The positive: Without any doubt, this was Nick’s best dance to date! He really appeared to be invested in the representation of his time on “The Bachelor,” where he finally found love in 2015. It began with him dancing briefly with four girls; the bulk of the time, logically, was with Peta, and just before the end with his fiancée, Vanessa. He was in the role of the leading man this time, all the way, which is major progress in confidence. He showed marked improvement all the way around, especially also in posture. He has progressed further and sooner than I had supposed he would on Dancing with the Stars. A really good job this week, and I enjoyed it.   Nancy Kerrigan: Traditional Foxtrot.                Judges’ scores 8-9-8-8.  My score 9. The positive:  Nancy shared the heartbreak of suffering six miscarriages in eight years after a successful first pregnancy that gave her a healthy son, along with...

Dancing With The Stars, Week 3 Analysis and Results

Dancing With The Stars Season 24, Week 3 Analysis and Results Calling all fans to Week 3, Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars!  Tom and Erin hosted, making as fun a duo as usual. Carrie Ann Inaba (CAI), Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli judged.   The Cast: Maksim Chmerkovskiy with      Heather Morris, Singer/Dancer Peta Murgatroyd                      with      Nick Viall, Former “Bachelor” Artem Chigvintsev                    with      Nancy Kerrigan, Former U.S. Olympic Ice Skater Val Chmerkovskiy                    with      Normani Kordei, Singer Sasha Farber                            with      Simone Biles, U.S. Olympic Gymnast (most-decorated) Keo                                         with      Charo, Actress/Comedian Emma Slater                             with      Rashad Jennings, NFL Running Back Kym Johnson Herjavec with      Mr. T., Actor Lindsay Arnold             with      David Ross, CHI Cubs Baseball Catcher Sharna Burgess             with      Bonner Bolton, Pro Bull Rider/Model Gleb Savchenko                       with      Erika Jayne, Singer/Real Housewives of Bev. Hills Dancing With The Stars: Week 3 Analysis (April 3, 2017) This week’s Dancing with the Stars theme was “Vegas Night.” Several performances were very good to fabulous. A few showed marked improvement. For the most part, scoring continued to go low. Sufficient, appropriate, and traditional dance content and proper behaviors ruled the night. Alan filled in for Maks again; Maks is making incredible strides in his recovery and hopes to dance next week. After Bonner and Sharna danced, siblings Derek and Julianne Hough did a beautiful dance to represent their parents’ divorce from when the siblings were kids—WOW! Certain pros choreoed and performed lifts, causing CAI to deduct a point from their scores. Nick Viall: Traditional Tango. .                       Judges’ scores 7-6-7-6.  My score 7.5. The positive: Nick did quite a bit better this week. He showed much more control, confidence, seemingly a healthier attitude, and all-around improvement, without looking for frequent coaching and encouragement from Peta. The negative/work on: Posture, technique, and truly feeling and responding to the music.   Mr. T: Tradl. Foxtrot.                                         Judges’ scores 6-6-6-6.  My score 6.5. The positive & negative: What a sweet and humble man—adorable! Len called him “a gentle giant.” Mr. T REALLY worked hard this week and it showed! He genuinely wanted/wants to improve, and I was delighted to see it. He actually had a little bounce in his step and more rhythm. Mr. T kept up with Kym, flowed with her, did all the right moves. WOW! They had fun, and so did we. Keep working on bounce/rhythm, technique, and posture.   Bonner Bolton: Tradl./Modified Charleston.     Judges’ scores 6-6-6-6.  My score 6.5. The positive: He’s a sweet, hard-working, and determined guy...
